About this file
This Location Specification Sheet (LSS) is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Environmental Services Section for wetland mitigation site tree and shrub planting services. The project involves the installation of 500 tree and shrub species in any combination at the Macatawa River Watershed Bank Site, located on the east side of 84th Street, approximately one mile north of Adams Street near Holland in Zeeland Township, Ottawa County. The contract scope includes site preparation, installation, tree guards, establishment period services, and plant replacements as needed. The contract is estimated to commence on April 1, 2020, and conclude on May 31, 2021. No specific bidder conference date, site visit requirements, or proposal submission deadline is identified in this document. The procurement contact is Klatra Pickett at the MDOT Contract Services Division, Purchasing Unit, and the Program Manager is Jeremie Wilson.
The pricing proposal must include itemized costs for four tree and shrub species—Acer saccharinum, Platanus occidentalis, Quercus bicolor, and Quercus palustris—with a lump sum cost for installation of the 500 species total. Additional line items include wetland watering and wetland cultivation costs, each priced per unit. The total price must encompass all material costs, labor, equipment, layout, tree guards, and the entire establishment period including plant replacements. Contractors are encouraged to propose quick payment discount terms and must certify that all pricing was developed independently. The contractor assumes full responsibility for any property damage resulting from performance of services and must complete all necessary repairs. The State reserves the right to adjust quantities from those listed and is under no obligation to purchase the estimated amounts.
