About this file
This is a Location Specification Sheet (LSS) issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Environmental Services Section for wetland mitigation site tree and shrub planting services. The project is located on the south side of Bass Drive, 3.6 miles west of 68th Avenue in Robinson Township, Ottawa County, within the Grand Region and Grand River Watershed Bank Site 1. The contract requires installation of 500 tree and shrub species in any combination from nine specified species: Betula pumila, Cornus amomum, Cornus sericea, Ilex verticillata, Larix laricina, Physocarpus opulifolius, Spirea alba, Ulmus americana, and Viburnum lentago. The contract is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2020, and conclude on March 31, 2021. The scope of work includes material costs, site preparation, labor, equipment, layout, tree guards, and establishment period with all plant replacements. Additional services include wetland watering and wetland cultivation on an each-unit basis.
Pricing proposals must be submitted in modifiable format and must include all material, labor, equipment, and establishment costs within the total contract price. Bidders are encouraged to offer quick payment terms with applicable discounts if invoices are paid within a specified number of days of receipt. The contract pricing structure includes separate line items for each tree and shrub species, a lump sum for installation of all 500 species, and unit pricing for wetland watering and cultivation activities. The State retains no obligation to purchase the listed quantities, and contractors are responsible for any property damage incurred during performance and must make necessary repairs. Procurement inquiries should be directed to Klatra Pickett at the MDOT Contract Services Division, Purchasing Unit.
