About this file

This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the Kansas Turnpike Authority for the procurement of twelve dump truck bodies designed for Freightliner 114SD chassis. The RFQ solicits bids for 2027/2028 model year dump bodies that meet specified equipment requirements, with all makes and models not listed on the Equipment Specification Sheet requiring pre-approval from the KTA Procurement Team. Bids are due by June 12, 2026, with bid opening scheduled for June 1, 2026. The bid selection and board approval are set for July 24, 2026, with the award announcement on the same date. No specific contract term or renewal options are detailed in the document. The scope includes 14-foot stainless steel dump bodies with hydraulic systems, hoisting equipment, and lighting, with four base package options available including configurations with Henderson front-mount snow plows, mid-mount wing plows, or dual auger V-box spreaders. All units must be factory-installed, delivered complete and fully serviced within 90 days to the Topeka Maintenance Yard on an FOB basis.

Pricing submissions must exclude federal excise taxes and state, county, and local sales taxes. The lowest bid price does not guarantee contract award, as the KTA reserves the right to review all options and accept or reject any or all bids. Successful vendors must provide a factory guarantee covering design, material, and workmanship, with free replacement of any failing parts at the F.O.B. delivery point. All proposals must be submitted through the Euna Procurement portal (Bonfire Hub) and must include a signed RFQ acknowledgment, detailed vendor-supplied equipment sheet with pricing breakdowns, completed specification sheet, estimated lead times, and the pricing sheet (BidTable BT-05EF). Bidders are required to register with the KTA on the Euna portal at https://ksturnpike.bonfirehub.com/portal. All clarifying inquiries should be directed to Michael Cummings at MCUMMINGS@ksturnpike.com, and no communication with other KTA employees regarding the RFQ is permitted.
