About this file

This is a specification sheet for a deep-water and drip irrigation system installation project. The specification establishes "meet or exceed" standards for all irrigation system components and installation requirements.

The project requires approximately 1,000 feet of 1½" SCH40 PVC pipe for the main deep-water irrigation trunk line serving mature trees, buried 8–10 inches below surface and connected to a 2-inch RainBird electric valve. Additionally, approximately 1,600 feet of 1" SCH40 PVC pipe is needed for the drip irrigation main trunk line serving pollinator plants and other vegetation, also buried 8–10 inches below surface with a separate 2-inch RainBird electric valve. The system includes 4,000–5,000 feet of RainBird FXS or equivalent emitter tubing buried 3–5 inches below surface in a spiral layout around mature trees with 3–4 foot spacing between spirals. Polyurethane tubing (500 feet of ¾" and 500 feet of ¼") connects to emitter tubing and approximately 50 adjustable shrubblers (1–10 gallons per hour capacity) for targeted watering in berm areas. The specification also requires PVC fittings and connectors compatible with SCH40 PVC and emitter tubing, plus all necessary hand tools for installation. A critical constraint specifies that all trenching must be performed using hand tools only, with no heavy machinery permitted on the site.
