About this file
This file contains concept planning documents for the City of Yuma, Arizona's 40th Street corridor improvement project from Avenue 6E to Avenue 7E. The project encompasses professional design services for a new Minor Arterial roadway segment featuring four travel lanes with left and right turn lanes where necessary, curb and gutter throughout, sidewalk on the south side only, and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the north side. Infrastructure improvements include grading, drainage, asphalt paving, a raised median, traffic signals at both Avenue 6E and 7E intersections with an at-grade signalized intersection at State Route 195, street lighting, and Arizona Public Service power connections. The solicitation (RFQ-26-180) includes preliminary design concept reports, traffic analysis, environmental considerations, and draft 15% design plans prepared by the City to support the design services procurement.
The project is currently in the design phase with construction anticipated to be advertised for Fiscal Year 2028. The preliminary concept plans presented in this appendix document provide the baseline design direction and technical requirements for responding design professionals. Funding for the design services phase will support the development of final construction documents and plans necessary for the subsequent construction bidding process in 2028.
