About this file
This is a detailed architectural and mechanical drawing for a chiller installation project at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Building A69, under project number PW 6860. The drawing presents a new chiller piping plan with comprehensive specifications for equipment installation and system connections.
The project requires installation of a new chiller system for a furnace with associated piping, mechanical components, and supporting infrastructure. Key components include a pump room with designated equipment layout, concrete pad installation, vibration hose connections using 1-1/2" copper piping with threaded progress elbows and fittings, temperature thermostats and pressure gauges on each supply and return line, ball valves, electronically controlled inlet and outlet water valves, boiler drain, air vent, and rain leader discharge connections. The plan specifies the location of ice accumulation drainage, exhaust arm hood installation, compressed air supply and return connections on the furnace, existing compressed air connection modifications, strainer installation on the return line, and elbow placement over existing heat lines. The drawing includes 24 detailed general notes addressing work scope, existing condition verification, plan intent for new conditions, contractor responsibilities for validation and survey, and specific installation requirements including minimum 40-inch clearance distances and component positioning. The document is marked as controlled unclassified information for official use only.
