About this file
This is an Equal Employment Opportunity Policy Statement required for state contracts in New York, applicable to the Erie County Medical Center Corporation's Insurance Broker & Claim Management procurement. The policy document establishes mandatory non-discrimination requirements that the awardee and all subcontractors must adopt and implement throughout contract performance. The contractor must commit to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, predisposing genetic characteristic, or domestic violence victim status, and must also comply with provisions regarding prior criminal conviction and prior arrest under the Human Rights Law. The organization must include non-discriminatory language in all employment solicitations and advertisements, coordinate with employment agencies and labor unions to ensure their compliance with these standards, and flow down all EEO requirements to subcontractors through binding contractual language.
The contractor must execute this policy statement by signing and dating the document, with printed name and title required. All provisions must be incorporated into subcontracts to ensure that subcontractors are bound by identical non-discrimination obligations. Compliance with the Human Rights Law and all applicable state and federal statutory and constitutional non-discrimination provisions is mandatory. The organization must maintain documented evidence of conscientious and active efforts to employ and utilize minority group members and women in its workforce. This policy statement serves as a prerequisite condition for contract award and represents a binding commitment throughout the contract term.
