About this file
This is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement document required for a state contract with Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) in New York for in-person and written interpretative services. The policy establishes non-discrimination requirements that the awardee/contractor must adopt and implement throughout contract performance. The contractor must commit to providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or marital status, and must undertake affirmative action programs to ensure minority group members and women are employed and utilized in the workforce on state contracts.
The policy requires the contractor to include equal opportunity language in all employment solicitations and advertisements, coordinate with employment agencies and labor unions to ensure non-discriminatory practices, and comply with New York's Human Rights Law and all applicable state and federal non-discrimination provisions. The contractor must also extend these EEO requirements to all subcontractors through written agreement, making the obligations binding on each subcontractor for work performed under the state contract. The policy specifically prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation, military status, predisposing genetic characteristic, domestic violence victim status, prior criminal conviction, and prior arrest in addition to the traditional protected categories.
