About this file

This document is an amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2025" for the F.10 Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM) solicitation. NASA is seeking proposals for development and flight of science-driven instrument and technology demonstration payloads to be delivered via Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) to a lunar surface location, including the South Pole region. The solicitation aims to address scientific goals across multiple NASA directorates, including Planetary Science, Earth Science, Heliophysics, Astrophysics, and Biological and Physical Sciences, as well as exploration and technology demonstration objectives.

Key dates include a Pre-proposal Conference on October 15, 2025, at 2 pm Eastern Time, with Step-1 proposals due November 5, 2025, and Step-2 proposals due January 30, 2026. The amendment will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage (https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2025) on or about September 30, 2025. Questions regarding the F.10 PRISM solicitation can be directed to Ryan Watkins at HQPRISM@mail.nasa.gov. The payload proposals should be tailored to complete scientific investigations at a lunar landing destination, excluding the North Pole region.

Subject: ROSES-25 Amendment 9: F.10 PRISM Final Text and Due Dates

F.10 Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM) solicits development and flight of a science-driven suite of instruments and supporting technology demonstration payloads tailored to complete scientific investigations at a lunar landing destination, that address the science goals of 1) any SMD division, e.g., Planetary Science, Earth Science, Heliophysics, Astrophysics, and Biological and Physical Sciences, 2) objectives of the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), and 3) any technology demonstration goals of the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) that advance capabilities for science, exploration, or commercial development of the Moon.

Payloads will be delivered on a Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) lander to a location the lunar surface that is identified and justified in the proposal, including the South Pole region but excluding the North Pole region.

ROSES-2025 Amendment 9 releases final text and due dates for F.10 PRISM. There will be a Pre-proposal Conference on October 15, 2025, at 2 pm Eastern Time, see the PPC connect information in Section 9. Step-1 proposals are due November 5, 2025, and Step-2 proposals are due January 30, 2026.

On or about September 30, 2025, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2025" (NNH25ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2025 and will appear on SARA's ROSES blog at: https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/solicitations/roses-2025/
