Questions & Answers 19AU9024Q0006 Q1) Are the bathroom facilities inside the house available for use during work?
A 1) No, the in-house bathroom facilities are not accessible to any external personnel that are involved in the construction project. The awarded contractor will need to provide bathroom facilities for its on-site personnel.
Q2) Could we please have more detailed pictures of the facade, particularly focusing on the front part of the balcony area?"
A2) The statement of work contains all relevant information necessary for the bidder to produce a full offer. The site visit provided an additional way to understand the construction project and no additional pictures will be provided.
Q3) Can we obtain a more detailed plan focusing particularly on the exterior features of the building?
A3) No additional plans will be provided during the solicitation process. All necessary information is included in the Statement of Work, which is part of the solicitation documents.
Q4) What is the investor's idea of the scope of work based on recommendations above?
The U.S. Embassy Vienna received the above question (Q4) from one of the potential offerors in connection with a list of recommendations and potential solutions.
The U.S. Embassy Vienna has no intention to change the scope of work.
If the contractor discovers that additional necessary repair work is required during the renovation, they must point this out in writing to the responsible U.S. Embassy Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
Q5) What is the condition of the balconies and terraces? Is the water leaking onto the plaster or masonry?
A5) The condition of the balconies and terraces observed during the site visit supports the effort to renovate the outside façade. Despite the presence of obvious cracks and chips in the façade, the U.S. Embassy Vienna has not found any evidence of water leaking into the plaster or masonry.
Q6) In order to prepare detailed price repair offer, we would like to offer you laser 3D scanning of facades, or the creation of a "photographic map" of facades from the drone photos. Would it be possible after agreement? A 3D scan and Photomap can serve you to preserve the current appearance and detailed data on the exact dimensions of the facades during repairs in the following years.
A6) The U.S. Embassy Vienna currently does not require this service for this property.
