Amendment of Solicitation Summary

This is Amendment 19AS2026Q0020-A0002 to solicitation 19AS2026Q0020, issued by GSO Procurement at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia on July 31, 2026. The amendment clarifies added scope under Section B of the Statement of Work (SOW) regarding the supply and installation of electrical conduit beneath the driveway, which was not included in the original solicitation. Updated drawings with revised legends have been attached to clarify the intended scope. The hour and date for receipt of offers is not extended. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the deadline through one of three methods: completing and returning one copy of the amendment, acknowledging receipt on each offer copy, or submitting a separate letter or telegram referencing the solicitation and amendment numbers. All other solicitation terms and conditions remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

The amendment includes Questions and Answers addressing prospective offerors' concerns. Key clarifications include: new kerb lines shall be provided within Embassy property only; existing grass areas identified for removal shall be replaced with asphalt; and electrical conduit quantities shall total approximately 24 linear meters of 50mm conduit (approximately 12 meters on each side of the driveway/property crossing), in accordance with the latest addendum rather than the 35 meters shown on schematic drawings. The electrical drawings are diagrammatic in nature and not intended for scaled measurements; offerors must base pricing on quantities stated in the addendum and verify final installation requirements during construction. The estimated project start date is April–May 2027, with work aligned to other ongoing residence projects.

Questions & Answers

Q1: Can you please advise if the asphalt replacement scope extends to the kerb line on Mugga Way? The drawings provided show the scope finishing at the property boundary.

A1: Any new kerb line, where applicable, shall be provided within the Embassy property only.

Q2: Can you please confirm if the "EXISTING GRASS AREA TO BE REMOVED" indicated on the plans is to be replaced with asphalt?

A2: Yes, the existing grass area identified for removal on the drawings shall be replaced with asphalt as part of the project.

Q3: The latest addendum states to allow a total of 12m of electrical conduit; however, the drawings indicate a quantity of 35m. Could you please confirm whether we are to allow as per the addendum or as per the drawing?

A3: Prospective offerors shall allow for approximately 24 linear meters of 50 mm electrical conduit only, comprising approximately 12 meters on each side of the driveway/property crossing, in accordance with the latest addendum.

The electrical system (conduit only) has been prepared as a schematic drawing to illustrate the proposed conduit routing. In accordance with AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and standard electrical engineering drafting practices, electrical drawings are diagrammatic in nature and shall not be used for scaled measurements or the determination of exact conduit lengths. The Contractor remains responsible for verifying final routing, dimensions, and site conditions prior to installation.

The quantities identified in the latest addendum shall govern the work and supersede any dimensions that may otherwise be inferred from the schematic drawings. The drawing legends have been updated to further clarify the intended scope. Given the schematic nature of the electrical drawing, prospective offerors shall base their pricing on the quantities stated in the latest addendum and verify final installation requirements during construction.

Please note: The estimated start date for this project is April–May 2027, and work will be aligned with other ongoing works at the residence. Offerors shall confirm awareness of this estimated timeline and adjust their submissions accordingly.
