Attachment J.2 - VACCINATION PROTOCOLS
Vaccination of children in the UC system is an ACF/ORR responsibility. Age-appropriate vaccines will be administered to all UC without documentation of valid vaccine doses.
Exceptions to vaccination protocols will be limited to cases where a specific medical reason precludes administration of a particular vaccine to an individual child, such as pregnancy.
Required Vaccinations
UC will receive vaccinations in accordance with the Advisory Committee on Immunization
Practices (ACIP) catch-up schedule, with two caveats: UC older than 5 years old shall receive pneumococcal vaccine per CDC interim guidance; age-appropriate UC may receive the human papillomavirus vaccine only if procured from Vaccines for Children (VFC) stock. The CDC interim guidance will be provided at the time of award.
All vaccinations shall be documented for each child in the UC Portal and a hard-copy record of administered vaccines shall accompany each child at all times.
The following vaccinations are administered prior to transport to certain temporary shelters as directed by the COR:
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Varicella
Meningococcal
Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR)
Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV13)
Tetanus, Pertussis Diphtheria, and acelluar (Tdap)
Inactivated poliovirus (IPV)
