RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS

1630DC-17-Q-00004 and 1630DC-17-Q-00005 Welding Trailers at Mississippi JCC and Shreveport JCC

1. The solicitation says the trailers are to be 9'-0" wide, but comply with DOT requirements. DOT only allows trailers to be 8'-6" wide, and a permit, (at a minimum cost), would be required to move a wider vehicle. Should we assume the trailers will be a maximum of 8'-6" wide? The 9’0” width is approximate and may be reduced if necessary to 8’6” to comply with DOT regulations to allow the trailer to be moved without DOT or state permitting being required.

2. What type of vehicle is going to be used to move the trailers, and what is its

GVWR? DOL does not have its own dedicated truck/tractor and plans to contract out future movements, therefore there is no established GVWR on the truck/tractor. With the generators and hvac equipment located over the fifth wheel as shown, the towing vehicle's gross weight rating may be exceeded, necessitating relocation of the equipment and a different lay out. The SOW example configuration on page A-21 is intended to just be an example, and relocations of equipment and differing layouts will be considered, however it is desired that the welding area be at the rear of the trailer.

3. The solicitation only states the temperatures to be maintained inside the trailers. During air conditioning season, space relative humidity will have a great effect on comfort. An comfortable level of humidity will be hard to maintain with the large percentage of outside air needed for this type of application. Will control of space relative humidity be needed during air conditioning operation, and if so, what level of is the maximum relative humidity that will be required while maintaining a 74 degree room temperature? Yes, the control of humidity is required. The maximum relative humidity is 50%.
