About this file
This is a specifications document for Freightliner 114SD 18-yard dump trucks being procured by Hillsborough County, Florida through a competitive sealed bid process for various construction and road maintenance vehicles and equipment. The county is seeking to purchase multiple units across eight Purchase Control Numbers (PCNs 158095-158100, 163330, 163331, and 163402) as part of a larger fleet modernization project estimated at $4,351,000. Each vehicle is specified with a Detroit Diesel DD15 engine, Allison 4500RDS transmission, 64,000 GVW package, and an 18-yard hydraulic-powered dump body with specific dimensions (16-foot length and 54-inch sides). The dump trucks are further equipped with an air lift steerable third axle, telescopic hoist, hot shift PTO, electric tarp system, standard cab, air ride suspension seat, and 11R22.5 tires. Each unit must include four-corner LED directional lights (model BK7308093) installed in white at the front grille and rear bumper sections with a toggle switch control mounted on the dashboard.
The dealer is responsible for all title, county tag, registration, and temporary tag documentation, including two-way overnight shipping of all materials in accordance with Hillsborough County Fleet Management Policy. The dealer must arrange offload capabilities for vehicle delivery and provide quarterly build and order status updates to the county. Specifications explicitly prohibit the use of OEM wiring for equipment add-ons and require strict adherence to OEM general practices. All LED wiring must be properly secured to prevent chaffing, circuit shorts, and snagging, with the complete circuit protected by a BK782-2023 fuse holder at the battery. Dealers must comply with all established county fleet management requirements throughout the procurement and delivery process.
