About this file
This document details the Required Salient Characteristics for an ultra-long-range business jet for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The aircraft must have a minimum 7000nm demonstrated range, capable of carrying 12 passengers, 3 crew, and 1000 lbs of cargo under specific flight conditions. Performance requirements include a normal cruise speed of 0.83 Mach (preferred 0.85 Mach), departure capability from a 6200-foot runway, and comprehensive communication systems including redundant in-flight internet, satellite phone, multiple radio frequencies, and UHF capabilities for military base operations.
Cabin configuration specifications mandate two lavatories, a crew rest seat, a fully equipped galley, and preferred features such as four cabin zones and a dedicated crew rest area with layflat seats. The aircraft must be 2500 hours or less, manufactured in 2020 or newer, ensuring a modern and low-utilization aircraft for sensitive DOJ personnel transport. These detailed requirements support the FBI's need for a high-performance business jet capable of rapid, global transportation for counterterrorism and high-risk operations, with the aircraft to be available for government acceptance by June 24, 2026.
