About this file

The file is a Request for Quote (RFQ) Questions and Answers document for a Mission Vehicle Outfitting solicitation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The solicitation seeks a firm fixed price contract to outfit two Mercedes Vans for the Render Safe Unit (RSU)/Critical Incident Response Unit (CIRG), with work to be performed at the contractor's facility within a workday's travel radius of Woodbridge, VA. The vans (170" wheelbase) require specific modifications including a midwall separating the cargo area, wood-based flooring, wheel well platforms, various electrical outlets, storage for approximately 40 Pelican cases, and adaptable office workspace with side-loading access.

Key technical specifications include both vans having side windows, headliners, and existing emergency equipment, with one van featuring a bench seat and rear glass and the other a cargo configuration. The contract is structured as a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procurement, meaning vendors must meet minimum technical requirements while offering the most competitive pricing. Vehicle modifications should accommodate specific operational needs, including HVAC considerations, electrical power requirements, and flexible workspace design. The solicitation involves VIN-specific vehicles (W1Y8NC6Y7PT149349 and W1W8NC6Y6PT143616) and is being issued directly by the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation Headquarters Division.
