Q&A for Warehouse Security Systems Upgrade Solicitation Number: 15F06723Q00000469

1. Are there any brands of POE switches that we should use?

No

2. Can we assume all electrical power requirements will be met by the government?

NO, The vendor shall provide in estimate the cost to run electrical to meet the needs of the system. If additional electrical is required the landlord of the building would have to approve. Any configurations and Specs need to be provided in the quote.

3. Is there a secure storage area available that can be used to store the equipment/materials?

The warehouse is a secured storage space and can coordinate space for the project.

4. In Mail Room 404, for the 2 workstation cameras that are to view inside the negative pressure blue bin, can these cameras be installed/mounted inside this bin?

That would be the best placement for the viewing angle, or you risk the view being blocked by the Person if the camera is mounted on the wall or ceiling.

NO, the camera cannot be put inside the “Blue Bins”.

5. For the Aiphone on the outside gates, can a dual arm mount be used which will give appropriate level of height for a standard vehicle and then a higher height for any Trucks?

Yes, please provide it in your quote

6. The decoder (VDJ-8003-CM) listed in the SOW; this model has been discontinued. Can any replacement be used?

Yes

8. Do the Racks require a dedicated power? If so, who will be responsible for providing power to these racks?

9. Will the bid due date be extended past the 15th. If yes could a two-week extension be provided due to size of scope of work?

NO

10. In the degaussing area it is recommended to use shielded cable for any devices or runs through this area. Would this be made a requirement?

They should use shielded cable for everything.

11. Where can 2-man lifts, and boom lifts be parked?

We can house the lifts temporarily in our MHE charge area while the project is ongoing.

12. Is there a secure storage area available that can be used to store the equipment/materials?

The warehouse is a secured storage space and can coordinate space for the project.

13. Is the old infrastructure being demolished as in the cables and un-useful pathways?

The old infrastructure (Cameras) should be removed. The pathways can be reused for wiring.

14. How are the cables being supported in the warehouse? By j-hooks, cable tray, or free run?

No preference, the cables currently run along the wall and over the joist.

15. What type of firestop product preference. Firestop sleeves, puddy, and or firestop caulk?

Vendor Preference

16. For the wall mounted racks (IDF). These should be dedicated circuits? But got the impression at the walk though it was not needed. Can this be confirmed. If so, decided yes will the circuits be installed by facility maintenance or required under this contract?

All electrical should be performed under the contract. Yes dedicated Circuits. The IDF rack should be on the floor in the IDF. IF racks are on a wall outside the IDF they should be on a dedicated circuit and part of the estimate from the vendor.

17. Are up open on installing 5U Secure Vertical Wall Mounts with Hinged Doors for the IDF’s?

Yes

18. Will the cables need to be in EMT into the field Racks?

No

19. For the outdoor runs they will have to be on a surge protector. Where can that be installed?

No equipment should be on a surge protector.

21. VSS systems are listed under the Federal Information Systems Management Act (FISMA) as requiring STIG updates and testing on an annual or “ongoing” basis. Will this also be a requirement for this system?

If we require maintenance we will reach back out to the vendor. There is no ongoing testing.

22. Do we have requirements for up time on the UPS in the headend?

Minimum of 6 hours

23. Do we have requirements for up time on the UPSs in the field racks?

Minimum of 6 hours

24. Do the switches need to be managed, and if so, are any certifications required for programming?

Standalone System, n/a

25. Are there requirements on the KVM to have remote IP access or provide KVM outside of the 70” headend rack?

No

26. What are the parameters for the video storage in terms of # of days, resolution, and frame rate?

30 days / 4k frame rate equivalent to resolution.
