About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document containing 70 questions and government responses related to a solicitation for installation of Airborne Imaging Systems (AIS) and mission equipment in Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) aircraft. The Q&A addresses technical requirements for installing imaging systems, radios, monitors, and other mission equipment in multiple aircraft types including Cessna 206 (7), Cessna 208 (2), Bell 407 (1), and Bell 412 (1) helicopters.
Key clarifications include: this is an IDIQ contract with estimated quantities; proposal submission deadline extended to January 9, 2025 at 2pm EST; installation timeframe is 10 weeks per aircraft; no milestone payments allowed; Shotover ION DVR provisions can be installed if units unavailable; most aircraft will be new with no existing systems; and removed equipment must be returned to the government. Several technical specifications were clarified regarding monitor types, audio systems, antenna locations, and equipment configurations. Multiple corrections were made to the Statement of Objectives (SOO) and CLIN structure to resolve inconsistencies in quantities and requirements across different sections.
