About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Federal Correctional Institution Aliceville's fire suppression dry systems replacement solicitation (15B318Q00000016). The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding the scope, site visit procedures, and facility access requirements for this new contract opportunity.
The project involves replacement of fire suppression dry valves and air compressors originally installed in 2011 at FCI Aliceville. No prior repairs or modifications have been made to the existing system since the last solicitation, and the equipment remains in its original condition. Contractors requiring detailed information about existing equipment—including photographs of dry pipe valves and air compressor data plates, manufacturer and model numbers, valve quantities, previous inspection reports, and equipment drawings—may obtain this documentation during a scheduled site visit, with cameras provided by the institution. Site visits require advance scheduling via email to the point of contact, submission of completed NCIC forms for federal facility clearance no later than July 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., and visitor compliance with facility entrance procedures including valid driver's license presentation, vehicle information (year, make, model, color, license plate), and prohibition of electronic devices in the facility. The scheduled site visit is set for July 15, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The solicitation deadline has been extended to July 27, 2028 at 12:00 p.m. CST.
