About this file
This document is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Pearl Public School District in Mississippi for the procurement of battery backup systems for three of its schools - Pearl High School, Pearl Jr High School, and Northside Elementary. The goal of the RFP is to acquire battery backup systems with a minimum runtime of 4 hours +/- 10% variation to provide sustained uptime during significant power outages. The district does not have a manufacturer requirement, and vendors may propose similar brands to the district's current APC units, such as Xtreme Power Conversion, Tripp-Lite, or Eaton. Vendors must have a valid E-Rate SPIN number and be authorized to sell the proposed equipment by the manufacturer. The project is contingent upon the district receiving E-Rate funding support, and vendors agree to bill the district's discounted portion only, with the remainder billed directly to the USAC E-Rate program. Sealed bids must be submitted by March 1, 2019, and the lowest bid will be recommended to the district's Board of Trustees for approval.
The RFP includes detailed equipment and power load specifications for each of the three school sites. Vendors are responsible for verifying that the proposed equipment can meet the runtime requirements, and are required to remediate any issues if the systems do not meet the specified runtime. The district reserves the right to reject all bids, and the project is being conducted using an exemption to the Mississippi reverse auction law, allowing for electronic bid submissions.

Battery Backup Systems
BID #249
E‐Rate 470 # 190021044
Background
The Pearl Public School District is a premier school district in the heart of Mississippi. Its stakeholders include over 4000 students and their families, 530+ employees and the City of Pearl. Pearl School District is the pride of the community it serves and is consistently setting the bar for educational excellence.
Pearl Public School District has determined that its current battery backup systems are no longer adequate to provide sustained uptime during significant power outages. The goal of this RFP is to acquire battery backup systems for Pearl High School, Pearl Jr High School, and Northside Elementary, with a minimum runtime of 4 hours +/- 10% variation.
