About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) document issued by Montana State University - Bozeman for comprehensive snow removal and ice control services at designated campus locations. The university is soliciting qualified contractor proposals to provide snow removal services across four primary service areas: Parking Services Area, Family & Graduate Housing Areas, Parking Garage Top Deck, and Museum of the Rockies (MOR). Service requirements are tiered by snowfall intensity, ranging from 1"-3" to over 9" accumulation, with additional line items for materials (sand, deicer, sand/salt mix) and equipment rental with operators (loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, snow blowers). The RFP opened on August 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM MDT, with a proposal submission deadline of September 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM MDT. Questions must be submitted to the public Q&A board by September 1, 2026, to ensure response. The RFP number is MSU-RFP-27-06, and proposals will remain sealed until the closing date.
Pricing for services is based on hourly rates and per-ton fees for materials, with payment terms of Net 30 days. Contractors must submit current W-9 forms and provide company remittance information, contractor liaison details, and contract signatory information. All costs associated with the proposed services must be fully disclosed in the proposal, with any undisclosed costs deemed non-applicable and not reimbursable. The university requires prevailing wage compliance per Montana state requirements and reserves the right to investigate contractor financial stability, require references, and assess litigation history. Contractors must register and utilize SmartBuyMSU, the university's e-procurement platform powered by Jaggaer, if awarded. Contractors responding to this RFP must comply with Montana HB 356 regarding nondiscrimination against firearm entities and must disclose any use of artificial intelligence in proposal development.
