NOTES

1. Preserve or replace existing reinforcement (where present) per Specifications, and supplement as needed with new reinforcement to meet spacing requirements shown.

2. Depth of existing reinforcement (where present) is not well-documented but is assumed to be 2 inches. Saw cut and drill cores around repair perimeters to a maximum depth of 1-1/2 inches regardless of repair location.

3. Where existing reinforcement is exposed by concrete removal, adjust location of repair edge as necessary to provide a minimum clear distance of 1.5 times the new concrete's maximum aggregate size behind existing reinforcement.

4. Remove concrete to a depth of (a) 6 inches from the existing surface, OR (b) 1.5 times the maximum aggregate size of new concrete below existing reinforcement (where present), OR (c) to sound concrete as determined by COR, whichever is greater.

5. Where repair areas do not extend across existing construction joints (Ct.J) and contraction joints (Cr.J), remove concrete within 2 inches of joints by sawcutting and grinding only.

6. Epoxy grout anchor bars to a depth of 18 inches into existing concrete at an approximate angle of 10 degrees from joints and exposed surfaces.

7. Do not extend new reinforcement (including anchor bars) across existing joints.

8. Lap new reinforcement as needed to facilitate installation. Minimum lap splice length =

10 inches.

9. Clean and dry existing concrete prior to installing replacement concrete.

10. Form all new concrete surfaces having slopes steeper than 1H:1V (i.e. between lift lines 5 and 18, inclusive).

11. Finish new concrete to provide a smooth, even surface and a flush interface with the existing concrete. Unless otherwise noted, match original lines and grades.

12. Round edges of new concrete to a 1/2-inch radius.
