Revised 35 21 23 - 6
E. Install hydraulic lines as follows:
1. Prepare ends for welding.
2. Ream fit, thoroughly clean, and install so that joints are oil-tight and the installation is neat in appearance.
3. Completely de-burr and thoroughly clean each fluid line subassembly after fabrication but before installation in system. Clean inside surfaces near welded joints, using power-driven flue or tube wire brush.
4. In addition, clean all fluid lines by:
a. Drawing lint-free cloth impregnated with suitable solvent through fluid lines.
b. Drain the excess solvent and dry interior of fluid lines with blast of dry clean compressed air which has been filtered through dirt and moisture trap.
c. Keep any foreign matter from entering the system during or after fabrication.
5. Fabricate fluid line subassemblies in maximum lengths to minimize the number of O-ring fittings used. All connections within a subassembly are to be socket welded. Subassemblies are to be connected together using SAE O-ring flanges.
6. Flush and clean each hydraulic fluid line subassembly by circulating hydraulic fluid through the fluid line subassemblies and an external 5 micron filter until no contaminants remain on the filter.

A. All testing shall be conducted in the presence of the COR. Notify the COR at least 14 days in advance of when tests are to be performed.
B. After filling and venting is complete, the Government will perform a pressure leak test by applying oil pressure of 1,000 pounds per square inch through the bypass valve near the gate hoist.
Revised 35 21 23 - 7
1. Following the test, the system will be checked for leaks.
2. The Contractor shall repair any leaks and re-test until no leaks are found.
3. The Contractor shall submit results of system testing as final data.
