About this file
This document outlines the requirements for recoating work on an outlet works tunnel and associated metalwork at Bonny Dam. The work includes abrasive blasting and reapplying coatings to exterior metal surfaces on the access house and tunnel; conducting spot repairs and manual surface preparation followed by new coatings on interior metal surfaces in the gate chamber and tunnel; and installing a new access manway on the 56-inch outlet works pipe. Submittals are required addressing personnel qualifications, coating product data, surface preparation and application plans, test results, and waste management records. The contractor must follow health and safety standards and properly contain, monitor, and dispose of hazardous materials removed from existing coatings during surface preparation work.
