140R4021Q0004 – BGNDRF Portable Media Filter for PFAS Removal Solicitation Amendment 0004:
The following question was answered in Solicitation Amendment 0002 and below are the additional questions surrounding that answer:
6. Should the system have its own feed pump capable of producing flow up to 30 GPM?
ANSWER: Yes. The indoor test bays can provide water at ~60 psi through a 2" PVC pipe, in which case a pump may not be entirely necessary. However, the outdoor application will require a pump because we will be treating the dead space in a storage tank.
Additional questions:
1. What pressure does the 30 GPM pump need to be rated for?
ANSWER: Our hydropneumatic deliver system provides water at pressures between ~45-65 psi. Again, water is pumped from a well to a storage tank. From the storage tank is pumped via the hydro system to a test site at a pressure between ~ 45-65psi. We can set the range on our SCADA. We will rarely go above 65 psi and the max delivery pressure is around 75 psi. We will leave it to the contractor to determine the proper pressure rating.
2. Is the feed water to the pump flooded suction from an above ground atmospheric storage tank?
ANSWER: The feed water is flooded and provided from an above ground Storage tank that is exposed to the atmosphere. However, as stated above, we have a hydropneumatic system that pumps water to the test pads (where the Media Filtration system would be) at pressures between 45-65psi.
