140R4021Q0004 – BGNDRF Portable Media Filter for PFAS Removal Solicitation Questions/Answers as of 1/21/2021:
1. Does the water contain suspended solids, and if so, what TSS concentration (ppm)?
ANSWER: TSS is very low (< 1ppm). However, there will be a 5um filter upstream of the prospective unit. We currently use 5um filters (flanked by pressure gauges to see pressure drop) upstream of our existing treatment pilots (we own 2x RO skids) and it has worked very well.
2. Where is the surface of the source water in relation to the skid inlet? (below, above, level)? Approximate distance?
ANSWER: The source water outlet is a 2" diameter pipe with a quick coupler but we typically hard plumb into existing skids with schedule 80 PVC. The inlet pipe comes vertically out of the concrete slab and has a 90 degree bend towards the test pad. The height is ~31 and 3/8 inches from the ground to the center of the pipe.
3. Does an effluent tank need to be provided for when analytical results are pending, or is there a storage location already on site?
ANSWER: No, there is alternative storage/discharge options available. (2 acres of evaporation ponds; ~ 1.5M gallons).
4. Are utilities such as power, air, and utility water supplied by BGNDRF and accessible at all locations of use?
ANSWER: Yes, all utilities listed (power, air, city/utility water) are accessible at each point of use location.
