Sol No. 140R3024Q0083 YAO Cooling Tower Analysis
Questions and Answers:
1. What is the current source of the service water? (Brackish Water Well? Colorado River? Something else?)
Water is taken from the salinity canal that filters and treats drainage water from the fields. Not exactly naturally groundwater but water taken from the drainage canals and treated at the Yuma Desalting Plant. It is filtered for use as service water, which is separate from the potable water provided.
2. Are the cooling towers self-serviced by Yuma Desalting Plant (YDP) personnel? If not, what is the name of the current management company?
BOR maintenance staff service and maintain the colling towers for the main administration building.
3. Will on-site personnel be available during our evaluation of the cooling towers?
Yes. COR and maintenance staff will be available and present during the evaluation to assist and answer any questions during this.
4. What is the current water maintenance process? (Current Quantities/Names of inhibitors, algaecide & biocides used on the facility).
¼ gallon of CT-1000 Inhibitor is mixed with one 55-gallon tank of water. Also, Justeq Algecide is injected daily and PSS-15 Biocide is injected weekly for treatment. The amount is automatically determined and injected using a treatment system.
5. Are there any required security clearances to enter the facility?
All visitors and contractors are required to check in at the front desk with reception and be escorted on site by the COR. No security clearances are required.
6. Can you confirm that this RFQ will be evaluated on a least-cost basis?
Experience is first, then price.
