140R2024Q0066/0002 intake #3? Or is intake #3 open to surface.

Answer 2: Yes, there is an overhead environment of a walkway and metal beams bolted to above the path in from of the intake, see attached pictures.

Question 3: Will lock-out /Tag-out procedures be observed and utilized?

Answer 3: Yes, the Intake 3 will be shut off and

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's lock out tag out procedures will be followed. They are the owner and operator of the intake and facility, and

Reclamation is its funder.

Question 4: If not, what is the flow for a swimming diver? What is the depth of the intake?

Answer 4: The current flows can be found at this link: Battle C BL Coleman Fish Hatchery NR

Cottonwood CA - USGS Water Data for the Nation

The depth changes seasonally, but right now it is estimated to be 3-4 ft.

Question 5: Will a probe with measurement on it be sufficient?

Answer 5: The type of sediment depth measurement should be some type of graduated probe that can penetrate the sediment and hit the concrete floor. The Government expect the sediment depth to range between 0 and 2 feet, maybe a little deeper in some locations. Additionally, within the Performance Work Statement it says, ¿Gather information on sedimentation levels along pathway

(trench) in front of intake and within Bays 1-4 within Intake 3 (see attached drawling Areas to

Check for Sediment Accumulation). Depth shall be measured in inches, to the nearest quarter-inch, from the concrete floor of the survey area to the top of the sediment layer. From the edge of the intake take measurements along 3 parallel lines separated by 6-inch intervals toward the stream invert. Take 5 additional sediment depth measurements inside of each of the 4 intakes along the intake centerline at 4-inch intervals.¿

The quote due date remains unchanged March 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time.
