SECTION C - Specifications/Appendices
Section 01 11 00 Summary of Work Part 1.02 Principle Components of Work
Principle components of work include:
1. Install cofferdam upstream of forebay gates to be recoated and downstream of bulkhead gate at entrance channel.
2. Remove and dispose of sediment and control water leakage into cofferdam during construction.
a. Sediment removed may contain hazardous substances.
b. Sample and analyze removed sediment prior to disposal.
3. Replace seals.
4. Remove and replace metalwork.
5. Blast and recoat gates and metalwork with vinyl coating system.
6. Furnish and install cathodic protection for gates.
7. Remove and dispose of coatings and equipment containing hazardous materials.
8. Demolition and removal of obsolete fish handling equipment.
9. Infilling of pipes and voids left by equipment removal.
Section 01 33 00, Submittals
1. 21-day government review of RSNs.
2. 64 RSNs.
3. Submit RSNs in accordance with specification requirements.
Section 02 41 10 Demolition, Table 01 41 10-1 Demolition List: Fish Handling Equipment

Section 09 97 02 Impact Immersion Coatings Part 3.11 Coating Tabulations

Section 31 03 10, Diversion and Care of Stream During Construction
1. Refer to Section 01 57 30, Water Pollution Control for regulatory requirements. Also, see exemption of 404 permit requirements in Section J.
2. RSN 31 03 10-1, Water Control Pan includes designs for temporary diversions and proposed methods for diversion and care of stream.
3. Contractor to design for a forebay water surface elevation of 3857’ plus 12” of freeboard plus 6” of debris of water surface.
4. Contractor to design for afterbay water surface elevation 3821’ plus 12” of freeboard.
5. USGS records are solely for information to the Contractor. Section 51 35 24 includes reservoir modeling. Section 51 35 26 include reservoir elevation data.
Section 26 42 10, Galvanic Anode Cathodic Protection System and Immersed Gates
1. Galvanic Cathodic Protection Systems required for gates 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 14 and 15.
2. See section 26 52 20 and drawings 320-D-60007 through 320-D-60010 requirements.
Section 31 23 10, Removal and disposal of Existing Silt and Sediment
1. Remove sediment between Contractor Cofferdam or Bulkhead and Marble Bluff Dam Structures for project needs such as coating project features.
2. Use non-motorized hand tools for removing silt and sediment.
Section 35 21 21 Gate Rehabilitation
1. The left Gate No. 6 (Wing Gate) bulges out approximately 2“. Provide one new left leaf for Gate
No. 6 Wing Gate.
2. See disassembly and other requirements for Gates 1-5 and 7 through 15.
3. Perform weld repairs in accordance with section 09 97 02. Repair defects exceeding 1/8” in depth as measured with a pit gauge.
4. See Operational Test, Dry Seal Test and Wet Seal Test requirements for gates.
IV. Sections F, H, I and J:
SECTION F –Commencement, Prosecution, and Completion of Work:
Start work within 7 calendar days of NTP and complete entire work ready for use not later than
470 calendar days after NTP.
Liquidated Damages: If the Contractor fails to complete the work within time specified in the contract, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of
$2200.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted.
SECTION H Special Contract Requirements
Work on in water structures may only be performed between July 1 and December 31.
