About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document for federal contract opportunity 140P8626R0002, "Replace Roofs and Vents Fort Cronkhite, GOGA," issued by the National Park Service Contracting Operations – West for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

The Q&A clarifies key project requirements and restrictions. Drone activities are prohibited at the property, as GGNRA is designated a No Drone Zone. Contractors must estimate vent replacement based on existing conditions, with the awarded contractor permitted to examine existing vents post-award for design purposes. Gutters are not included in the base contract scope; however, if present, existing gutters must be removed and reinstalled. The specification will be updated to include replacement of approximately 10 feet of missing gutters on building 937. Flashing must be copper. The vents do not have motors. Deteriorated boards on or around the roof are excluded from the scope unless discovered during roof tear-off, at which point the Contracting Officer will evaluate the need for additional work. Gutter guard materials are specified in Section 07 71 23 – Manufactured Gutters of the project specifications.
