About this file

This document is Pre-Bid Site Visit Notes for a federal contract opportunity issued by the National Park Service at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The solicitation number is 140P8626Q0033, titled "SAFR Bathhouse Mural Maintenance 2026."

The pre-bid site visit was conducted on June 10, 2026, at the Museum Building located at 2 Marina Boulevard, Building E, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, California 94123. The Contracting Officer's Representative is Todd Bloch. The project scope includes assessment and cleaning of murals on the second, third, and fourth floors of the bathhouse, with color assessments required on the third and fourth floors. The work explicitly excludes in-painting, touch-up, and conservation activities. Attendees toured the women's lounge and Prismatarium to observe wall and ceiling murals, identified locations of previous paint exposures on ceiling beams on the third floor, and noted that the entire fourth-floor room has been overpainted requiring paint exposures throughout all ceiling levels. An area of previous repair without an original paint layer was identified in the east stairwell on the second floor. Paint exposure of ceiling tiles is included within the scope. The notes also clarify that pre-existing ceiling cracking documented in a previous conservation project report is not new damage, and that most recent projects have used rolling scaffolding rather than motorized electric lifts on the third floor.

The grouped moved to and ascended the west stair from the second floor to the third floor. Locations of previous paint exposures were identified. On the third floor, locations of previous paint exposures on the ceiling beams were identified.
