GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

PART 1 - DESCRIPTION OF WORK

1.1 BACKGROUND: Historically in the past, the Cheseboro Trail Head parking lot road was paved. Recently construction was performed to improve storm water control and the lot and road were reconstructed without paving. This unpaved road has led to numerous health and safety complaints from adjacent neighbors about their health due to wind and vehicles kicking up dust and blowing the dust into their houses. The park has agreed this has become an issue and has agreed to pave the section of road from parking lot to parking lot to mitigate these health and safety issues.

1.2 The goal of this project is to pave the section of road from the lower lot parking delineator curb approximately 10 feet below lower gate to the upper lot “y” intersection which is a total of 15,012 square feet. (See SOW map).

1.3 The contractor will be performing traffic controls of asphalt trucks and laying a hot mix asphalt overlay. Asphalt paving will consist of a total of 4” compacted hot mix asphalt in two lifts (bottom lift 2 ½” of ¾” asphalt and cap of 1 ½” of ½” asphalt).
