About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal solicitation 140P8526Q0018, a hazardous waste removal contract for Yosemite National Park. The document clarifies specifications for various waste streams requiring removal and disposal. Key materials include approximately 200 ABC dry chemical 5-pound fire extinguishers; hand sanitizer (80% alcohol) in small 1-gallon containers (1 pallet) and 5-gallon buckets (1 pallet); 3,000 feet of fluorescent tubes, some packaged and some loose; a 55-gallon drum of Verbenone Splat bark beetle pesticide; 3 tons of batteries stored in plastic 3x3x3 containers; one 55-gallon drum of unknown corrosive liquid with no labeling; three 55-gallon drums of unknown liquid materials; one 55-gallon drum of gear oil with a largest container size of 55 gallons; paint thinner (2 x 55 gallons), calcium chloride (1 x 55 gallons), gasoline/diesel mix (2 x 55 gallons), and truck/car used oil filters (4 x 55 gallons). Additional hazardous materials include five 14-ounce MAP gas cylinders containing propane and one damaged 600-gallon propane tank that is empty with possible residual contents.

The government clarified that no Safety Data Sheets are available for listed materials and confirmed the period of performance is 30 days after receipt of order (ARO). Pictures of waste materials are provided in Attachment 05. Vendors should note that obtaining SDSs for miscellaneous bulbs and unknown materials is not practical, and the unknown corrosive liquid has unknown chemical properties with pH testing not completed. The solicitation deadline is February 5, 2026.
