About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for solicitation 140P8526Q0015, which addresses inquiries submitted regarding a fire suppression system repair project at Yosemite National Park's Ranger Club facility. The government confirmed that 28 sprinkler heads throughout the dormitory are affected by a recall and must be replaced. The recalled heads include both -inch brass and -inch quick response types, which are distributed as side wall heads on the first floor, recessed heads on the second floor, and upright pendants in the mechanical room and attic. The spare head box currently contains recalled Central brand heads and will need to be refilled with the correct replacement heads corresponding to the remaining building specifications. Additionally, the government clarified that a 16-inch flange with stripped bolts and nuts measures 4 inches, with reference provided to solicitation Attachment 5 for photographic documentation. The recalled sprinkler heads were identified during an annual inspection conducted in 2024 by the ITM contractor, and no additional recall documentation beyond manufacturer identification is available.

The solicitation is a Request for Quote (RFQ) set-aside exclusively for Small Business concerns under NAICS code 238220 (with a $19.0 million size standard). The project scope encompasses all mobilization, labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, site rehabilitation, cleanup, and demobilization. The estimated construction magnitude ranges from $25,000 to $100,000. Proposals are due by 12:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Monday, February 23, 2026, via email only. All questions regarding the requirement had a deadline of February 13, 2026, directed to Brian Roppolo at brian_roppolo@nps.gov, with answers posted as amendments on SAM.gov. The Department of the Interior National Park Service reserves the right to cancel the solicitation.
