About this file
This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) Amendment for the Benevenga Residence 157 Rehabilitation project at Point Reyes National Seashore. The solicitation (No. 140P8425R0005) includes a site visit summary and responses to nine contractor questions regarding specific rehabilitation requirements. Key project details include foundation wall construction specifications using 4,000 psi concrete, installation of 25 Ellis Heavy Duty Steel Lifting Shores for floor support, HVAC split system placement, electrical panel replacement, and provisions for potential floor structural repairs.
The amendment provides clarifications on various technical aspects, such as acceptable roofing materials (GAF Timberline HDZ shingles), interior wall modifications, HVAC ductwork installation, and electrical system upgrades. The document notes there are no existing engineering soil reports or as-built plans, and contractors must incorporate potential floor structural repair costs into their fixed bid price. Contractors are directed to contact the contracting officer Brenda Lewis at Brenda_lewis@nps.gov for additional questions, and the bid due date has been extended as noted in Amendment 3.

New HVAC ductwork in the attic would be acceptable if the change would add value or reduce cost.
