About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for a federal contract opportunity involving a heat pump installation at Point Reyes National Seashore. The Q&A provides critical details about the project scope, including confirmation that electrical work should be included in the proposal, the building size of 1,950 square feet (excluding unheated basement), and specific requirements about ductwork. Notably, the document clarifies that only ductwork necessary to connect the new system to existing ductwork will be required, and while the current solar system is non-functional, its breakers should be preserved for future repair.

The Q&A supports the broader solicitation for replacing a propane furnace with an electric heating system, which is a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 238220. The project involves removing the existing furnace, installing a high-efficiency heat pump, and integrating it into the current heating infrastructure at the Point Reyes National Seashore Ranger Headquarters in Marin County, California.
