The site visit consisted of brief introduction of project and NPS staff, and then a site walk.
Q&A and Clarifications:
Irrigation box is already out of use.
Spoils will need to be hauled off-site, piled in sequence so they can be inspected by the NPS
Archeologist. Do not scatter dump. Some of the spoils can be used as backfill.
The internal components inside the building are not part of this project.
Near visitor center area, if you come to a big tree, go under or saw cut, but please first coordinate with COR as NPS prefers to keep as many trees in tact as possible.
The visitor center will remain open during construction. NPS prefers that any cutting of asphalt and/or concrete in the area of visitor center not occur during the busiest part of the day, preferable to cut morning or late afternoon/early evening.
Preparing area for installing drainfield will most likely require removing some trees/timber.
Contractor will need to relocate rootballs to a designated area which is near site, a burn road
Park’s maintenance shop.
On plans/drawings, the out building with water system is on backside of visitor center public restrooms.
Additional Q&A is included in Attachment no. 10.
