About this file

This is Amendment #1 to a federal solicitation (140P8126Q0020) issued by the National Park Service (NPS) for Lake Mead wet well relining work. The amendment addresses five vendor questions with clarifications regarding project specifications and does not extend the original proposal closing date, which remains April 28, 2026. The period of performance runs from July 1, 2026 through December 28, 2026.

The amendment provides technical clarifications for three lift stations requiring wet well relining: Katherine Landing Main (105-inch diameter, 180-inch depth), Katherine Landing Back Bay (80-inch diameter, 126-inch depth), and Temple Bar (75-inch diameter, 213-inch depth). Historic maximum sewage flow rates are 15,129 gallons per day for Katherine Main, 7,000 gallons per day for Temple Bar, and 1,700 gallons per day for Katherine Landing Back Bay. Surface preparation must comply with ICRI Technical Guidelines No. 03732, with 200 mils dry film thickness per coat and additional coats applied as needed. For Temple Bar, the exact square footage of failing fiberglass liner requiring removal is unknown, but operators can visually assess the failing liner from the top hatch; no prior inspection reports are available. Contractors must provide all temporary bypass piping with the ability to tie into the force main within a 100-foot radius at all locations, as no existing tie-in points are available on the force main.

140P8126Q0020 LAKE MEAD WET WELL RELINING

AMENDMENT #1 4-29-26

Amendment #1 addresses vendor questions. Answers are in ORANGE, below.

Q1. WET WELL DIMENSIONS AND SURFACE AREA

Please provide the interior dimensions (diameter or length x width, and depth) and total surface area to be coated for each of the three wet wells (Temple Bar, Katherine Landing Main, and Katherine Landing Back Bay).

A1: KL Main LS has a diameter of 105 inches with a depth of 180 inches, Back bay dia. 80" and depth of 126", Temple Bar dia. 75", depth of 213"

Q2. SEWAGE FLOW RATES FOR BYPASS PUMPING

Can NPS provide expected average and peak sewage flow rates (gpm) for each of the three lift stations so that bypass pumping equipment can be sized appropriately?

A2: Historic flow rate maximums for Temple Bar= 7,000 gpd, Katherine Main= 15,129 gpd, KL Back bay= 1,700 gpd

Q3. TEMPLE BAR LINER REMOVAL AND SUBSTRATE CONDITION

For the Temple Bar wet well, can NPS provide the approximate square footage of failing fiberglass liner that must be removed, along with the estimated condition and depth of any spalling or structural damage to the underlying concrete substrate? Has any prior condition assessment, inspection report, or as-built drawing been completed that can be shared with offerors?

A3: Unknown, Operators can see the failing liner from the hatch on top of the wet well. No further inspection has been conducted.

Q4. SURFACE PREPARATION STANDARD AND COATING THICKNESS

What is the required minimum dry film thickness (DFT) for the protective coating, and is surface preparation specified to a particular NACE or SSPC standard (e.g., SSPC-SP 6, SSPC-SP 10) with a defined blast profile?

A4: Surface must be cleaned of all grease , oil, rust, scale and other contaminants in accordance with ICRI Technical Guidelines No. 03732. 200 mils thickness per coat, additional coats may be needed in certain instances.

140P8126Q0020 LAKE MEAD WET WELL RELINING

AMENDMENT #1 4-29-26

Q5. BYPASS ROUTING DISTANCE AND DISCHARGE TIE-IN POINTS

What is the approximate distance and elevation change for the bypass routing (Back Bay to Main at Katherine Landing, and Main lift to the sewage lagoons via force main at both sites)? Are there existing force main connection points or manholes that the contractor can tie into for bypass discharge, or must the contractor provide all temporary piping?

A5: No existing tie in points on force main. Depending on tech approach to project the distances can vary. The force main should be able to be tied in to within a 100' radius at all locations.
