About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for Solicitation 140P8125Q0058, a solar inverter replacement project at BB Housing for the Department of the Interior National Park Service Pacific West Region. The Q&A document provides critical technical and procedural clarifications for potential contractors, including key details such as no local building permits required, park entrance fees waived for construction personnel, and specific subcontractor qualification requirements (NABCEP certification or PV installer license).
The nine questions and answers cover important technical specifications, including: mandatory rapid shutdown device installation, updating the existing PV system to current code cycles (NEC, NFPA), replacing both AC and DC wiring, and inspection requirements. Notably, the project requires replacing solar inverters on federally owned land, with inspections limited to those required by the power company and a prefinal/final inspection with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and park employees. Data monitoring is not required for the new inverters, and subcontractors must meet specific professional certification standards.

Q8: In the statement of work, it mentions replacing wiring and associated equipment. I took this to mean the ac wiring involved with the inverter/disconnect replacement, but they mentioned DC array wiring during the walk. Should we assume replacing all the DC wiring since we will not know what’s needed until construction?
A8: Yes, assume replacing all the DC wiring too.
Q9: Will there be any requirements for data monitoring on the new inverters?
A9: Data monitoring is not required.
