About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Fort Matanzas National Monument Johnson House Roof and Door Replacement project (Solicitation 140P5425R0013). The Q&A addresses four key contractor inquiries: 1) Roof decking replacement, with seven rotted rafters identified and requiring replacement and painting to match existing color, 2) Copper gutter system reuse with a requirement to replace entire damaged sections rather than patch/repair, 3) Confirmation that the facility will be occupied during construction, and 4) Verification that weekly certified payrolls are required and must be submitted to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer (CO). The project involves roof and door restoration work at a national monument, with specific guidelines for material replacement and preservation of existing architectural elements.

Questions and Answers
1. Does the government have an estimated quantity of roof decking and fascia that will need to be replaced?
(For example - 10% - 15 4x8 roof decking, 200 lf of 4" fascia)
• From the SOW: 3) Replace rotted roof rafters. Seven rotted rafters are visibly identifiable from the ground. All exposed material will be primed and painted to match existing color.
2. Because the copper gutter is so expensive. Is there an approximate footage of gutter and downspout that needs to be replaced? Even an approximate amount will help with the expectations and competitive pricing per the FARS.
• Re-use the copper gutter system (gutters, downspouts, fasteners, etc.) and replace damaged sections/ fasteners with copper material of the same shape, and size. If any section/part of the gutter is damaged, the entire section/part will need to be replaced as patch/repair work will not be accepted.
3. Will the facility be occupied during the construction?
• Yes
4. Will weekly Certified payrolls be required on this project, if so, who would we turn them in to?
• Weekly certified payroll is required and must be submitted to the COR and CO.
