1. Please clarify number of containers in Attachment 1, Section D.
D. Fort Pickens
a. Provide sufficient containers for solid waste collection and service two (2) times per week. Minimum of two days apart between pickup dates (Monday-Friday).
Solid Waste Main Campgrounds Provide two (2) 8 cubic yard first corral near dump station.
Provide one (1) 8 cubic yard in F/C dumpster corral.
Provide one (1) 6 cubic yard in B/D dumpster corral.
Campground loop A Provide one (1) 8 cubic yard in dumpster in corral.
Fishing Pier Provide one (1) 6 cubic yard dumpster in corral.
Battery Worth Provide one (1) 6-yard dumpster Battery Langdon Beach Provide one (1) 8-yard dumpster.

2. Should all containers, trash and recycling, be equipped with bear locking mechanisms?
No. Aminal proof containers not required. NPS will provide two 8-cuyd bear proof dumpsters (Government-furnished material) at Perdido Key only.
3. Who is the current provider and can current rates/tonnages be provided?
[http://Emerald%20Coast%20Utilities%20Authority]Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) is the current Solid Waste Collection provider. Sorry, NPS do not have current tonnages. Waste totals can be calculated based on the number of dumpsters X the full capacity X the Service schedules. ECUA publishes

4. Does the NPS have a transition plan given the incumbent doesn’t retain the contract?
The transition plan is straightforward. ECUA would remove dumpsters on or about 1 APR 2024. The new contractor will deliver dumpsters on 1 APR 2024 (or 2-3 days before) to allow for a seamless transition with no break in service.
NPS response (Blue text) to Sandford Federal inquiry to confirm the total number of containers/dumpsters required for all four locations:
Perdido Key: Total - 3 Containers (confirmed, however two (2) 8 CUYD bear proof containers are Government-furnished material, see SPECS in SOW)
• Solid Waste: 1 x 8 cubic yard (GFM), 1 x 6 cubic yard
• Recycling: 1 x 8 cubic yard (GFM)
Gulf Breeze: Total - 2 Containers (confirmed)
• Solid Waste: 1 x 8 cubic yard
• Recycling: 1 x 8 cubic yard
Santa Rosa: Total - 4 Containers (confirmed)
• Solid Waste: 2 x 8 cubic yard
• Recycling: 2 x 8 cubic yard
Fort Pickens: Total - 14 Containers (correction, see below for actual)
• Solid Waste: 7 containers specified: 4 x 8 cubic yard, 3 x 6 cubic yard (8 containers specified: 5 x 8 cubic yard, 3 x 6 cubic yard confirmed)
