About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal solicitation regarding reproduction wallpaper and carpet for the Ironmasters House at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site in Elverson, Pennsylvania. The document addresses a bidder's inquiry regarding carpet specifications and clarifies that there are two distinct Wilton carpet styles being procured for different areas of the historic site. Specifically, cut pile/Wilton carpet is required for the parlor/office area, while woven Wilton carpet is specified for the stairs and dining room. The document notes that these carpet styles were selected by the curation staff and that the project experienced delays, with the referenced examples representing the approved selections for the furnishing plan.
The solicitation, numbered 140P4226Q0021, is issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Northeast Region. This Q&A indicates that bidders were working toward a Friday submission deadline at the time of the inquiry. The project involves reproduction materials to support the historic furnishings plan, though the document does not provide pricing terms, final award dates, or other contractual specifics beyond the carpet style clarifications needed for accurate quotation.

140P4226Q0021 HOFU Wallpaper and Carpet – Ironmasters House Q & A
1. We are planning on submitting the solicitation bid by Friday.
However It is still unclear what Wilton carpet style has been selected. We will quote for two kinds of Wilton?
The carpet for the parlor/office would be cut pyle/Wilton while the style used in the stairs & dining room would be woven. These carpets are not currently installed in the Ironmaster's House and there are currently hardwood floors. This project was delayed & the examples pictured are the ones that the curation staff had chosen for this particular project.
