About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a wayside exhibit panel project at Independence National Historical Park.
The Q&A clarifies three key points about the project: 1) The park's review process allows up to 28 calendar days per panel, with a maximum of three panels under review simultaneously, though the full review period may not be needed for all panels; 2) The contract scope includes only the design and fabrication of exhibit panels, not the bases, as the park will refurbish existing bases in-house; and 3) Only aluminum panels will be accepted as the material for the wayside exhibits. The project appears to involve nineteen exhibits total with a completion deadline of June 1, 2026.

Text version
Q: Does the below highlighted bullet #7 (paragraph 7 from the SOW, “Review and Approval”) mean that each round of review (for total nineteen exhibits), will take approximately 7 months? This would only allow the park one round of review for the layouts as two rounds would not leave enough time for fabrication by June 1, 2026.
A: The park does not expect to take the full 28 days to review all of the panels. Some of the panels will only require minor edits and updates. If the vendor submits 3 panels and the park reviews one of them in 7 days (as an example), the vendor can send another panel so that up to three panels are under review at the same time. The park has up to 28 calendar days to review a single panel and only three panels can be under review at the same time.
Q: Does this contract only include fabrication of the exhibit panels, and not the fabrication of exhibit bases? The bases in the photos appear to mostly be the old traditional base style so just wanted to check.
A: Correct. The contract only includes design and fabrication of the exhibit panels. The park plans to touch up the existing bases in house.
Q: Are other panel materials acceptable for the Independence National Historical Park waysides RFQ?
A: Only aluminum panels will be accepted.
