About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Motion Sensors contract (Solicitation 140P2125Q0124) for the National Park Service. The document provides detailed facility information for three buildings: the Interpretive Design Center (IDC), Lewis Anthony Building (LA), and Bird Brady House (BB), which range from 55 to 130 years old and total approximately 43,402 square feet. The Q&A covers existing motion sensor inventory (52 total units across multiple floors and buildings), facility characteristics including wall compositions, power stability, and specific installation requirements.

Key technical details include confirmation that door contacts will be added to multiple exterior doors, power is stable with a standby generator, and interior walls have varied compositions of masonry, wood, and composite materials. The existing IDS Bosch 8512G-C system's installation date is noted as 2025, though many specifics about the current system remain unknown, including cable types, original installation date, and the installing company. The system is not monitored by DHS, and the contractor will be responsible for verifying equipment locations and determining specific conduit footage during installation.
