About this file
This document is a set of construction drawings for roof and gutter deicing system details for the restoration of the Second Bank of the United States building at Independence National Historical Park. The drawings show plans and sections for installing electric heating cables in the roofing, gutters, and chimneys to prevent ice buildup. Notes call out that heating cable runs will start in the attic and extend vertically approximately 36 feet to the gutters. Power connection boxes will be mounted in the attic. Pole gutters will be covered with double runs of heating cable. Sensors will monitor gutters at chimney locations. The related federal contract opportunity is for the overall restoration project at the Second Bank building, including repairs to the roof, exterior marble, and wood windows. The solicitation was issued by the National Park Service for work at Independence National Historical Park.

NOTES ON THIS SHEET REFER TO
PMIS 224697 BID OPTION 3
Wesley_M Callout Do these notes mean that all runs of heat trace cable are to start in the attic and have a vertical distance of approx. 36ft from their start in the attic up to the gutters? If so, are all power connection boxes to be mounted in the attic to start the cable runs up to the roof then out into the gutters? Please provide electrical drawings so I can see more details about what this note means and also to see what power is available for the heat trace system.

Wesley_M Callout Are the pole gutters to be covered with heat trace or will these be downspouts where the cable will need to run down into as well? Is the note about "double cable run at pole gutter" possibly in reference to the cable running down inside the pole gutter then back up again to be considered a "double run"? If so, please advise the vertical height of the pole gutters and please provide drawing 4/A6.1 as listed here.

Wesley_M Callout Are all GIT-1 gutter sensors to be placed only at the chimneys? Can you advise how wide the gutters will be?
