The questions and answers provide clarification on equipment specifications and asbestos abatement work. 006 - Replace Wastewater Plant Panther Junction- BIBE 218341
Q1: The specs call for WesTech equipment or approved equal. Is OVIVO an approved equal? Do they fit the TCEQ criteria?
A1: To be considered as approved equal, vendor shall provide the following in their proposal:
· Brochure of treatment system to include drawings and specifications.
· Vendor needs to show that the treatment system will fit in the design plan and not cause impedance or redesign of the WWTP plan.
· Power use of proposed treatment system.
· Treatment system has previously been approved by TCEQ.
Q2: The specifications call for "...removal of Mastic associated with vinyl asbestos tile flooring in the lab/office and restroom, amounting to approximately 235 square feet." The asbestos survey report does not mention any asbestos containing flooring or mastic. It only mentions transite panels, foundation sealants and gasket material.
A2: For the purposes of this solicitation, it should be assumed that the abatement called for is in fact ACM.
