Response: Contractor to follow all electrical requirements from the electrical project specifications.
31. RE: Existing Transformer, Drawing Reference: E-0.3, Specification Reference: Addendum #1 BET
Report: According to the Burlington Electrical Testing report provided with Addendum #1, supposedly the existing JCPL ground mounted transformer is energized. They could not inspect it however as it was locked.
Given the high water mark on the building, it is possible that the transformer was at least partially in the water for some period of time. It was recommended in the BET report that the transformer be inspected
Is there any plan to have this transformer inspected by JCPL so that contractors will know if it is safe to tap this transformer for temporary power as the BET report does indicate that the power feeders into the meter socket are dead?
Response: See Section 01 50 00 Temporary Facilities and Control Section 3.2.A.1. Contractor should arrange with utility company to make connections for temporary services. That includes the inspection of the transformer by JCPL and all related permits.

This specification section also lists primed MDF as an optional material for interior trim and molding.
Please confirm if this is acceptable?
Response: Mahogany is a hardwood. The only problem is that trims and moldings have an opaque finish to match existing. Mahogany wood has a reddish color that contractor will need consider in order to obtain an opaque color that cannot reflect the reddish of the mahogany. It can be used but will required more coats of paint.

Response: Bid Option with roof
