140P1321R0006 Amendment 2 Q&A

Questions:

1. Roof Demolition Note #2 in drawing A-101 calls to replace existing insulation as needed. However, existing roof condition is unknown. Existing rigid insulation could be completely damaged requiring removal down to deck, or it could be 100% reusable. Is it acceptable to exclude this item from the base bid and include an add alternate per SF price?

2. New Roofing System Note #1 in drawing A-101 calls for “Increase Insulation to R-30”. Existing rigid insulation thickness is unknown. Is it acceptable to exclude this item from the base bid and include an add alternate per SF per inch price?

3. New Roofing System Note #2 in drawing A-101 calls for “Increase minimum slope to 2%”, which requires additional tapered insulation. However, existing slope is unknown. Is it correct to exclude this item from the base bid and include an add alternate per SF per slope % price?

Answer:
