Questions Addressed Solicitation: 140L6222R0023 Weston Hills Grading and Reclamation

1. How much material will need to be hauled in?

a) We are estimating about 150-200 c.y.

2. What is the timeframe of when the job will be started/completed?

a) The project will be awarded this fall and can be completed in the spring of 2023.

3. What is the exact area that will be reclaimed?

a) The western most road of the two roads leading down from the main road will be reclaimed. The eastern one will remain in use for ATV/UTV traffic.

4. Will the reclamation occur all the way down to private, or where the two road segments join?

a) It will be to where the two roads join.

5. Will the reclamation be to the extent of returning to the original contours, or only the approximate surface of the existing road segments?

a) Only to the approximate surface of the exiting road segment.

6. Can tree limbs be cut from roadway to allow for motor grader?

a) Yes, and removed at least 20’ off the roadway.

7. What do we do with the trees at the top of the borrow area if they come down?

a) They can be stored on the project and will be placed at the road reclamation site and used as a road closure blockades.

8. Slope of the borrow area, when finished, will not exceed the present existing slope.

a) The slope after borrowing has been removed will be left at a 3:1 slope or to match existing topography.

9. If there is existing gravel/material at the repair areas, can that material be bladed back into the roadway.

a) Yes, if the “gravel” was previously part of the road segment. The existing road is not to be widened. Borrow is to be taken from the designated hillside only.

10. Can rocks larger than 3” be pushed to the side of the road and left.

a) Yes, however they may not be placed where they could be a danger to motorized travel.

11. The pricing worksheet has water bars quantity 26304 LF , on division sitework SEC. 02311 under water bars it says payment is each. Would you please clarify water bar payment LF or Each?

a) Water bars are each for payment.

12. On form 1442 it says there’s no bid guarantee needed. On the solicitation page 38 it says there is a bid of 20% needed would you please clarify. Thanks for your time

a) No, bid guarantee will be required. Requirement is for anything over $150K.
