About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding Amendment 0004 to federal contract solicitation 140L6221R0006. The solicitation from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Wyoming Region is for the John Blue Rock Grinding Phase 2 project. The amendment clarifies that the work involves grinding and road surface reestablishment on two miles of the John Blue road, while only reshaping, compacting, rolling and applying stabilization will be performed on approximately half a mile of the Ball Bearing Hill section. Bidders are to submit pricing for work requirements per mile of road worked, as the amended bid schedule specifies the total miles for each task rather than grouping all tasks into single mile line items as the original solicitation did.

AMENDMENT: 0004

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. From the site visit and the Q&A, my understanding is that we are re-establishing native road surface (grinding), re-shaping, compacting, rolling, and chemical perma-zyme on 2 miles of John Blue. On Ball Bearing hill, which I measured on Google to be about 0.5 miles. We are only doing the latter 4 bid items. We are not grinding.

The specifications state to grind the 2 miles of John Blue, reshape, compact rolling install the rubber water diverters, and place stabilization on the entire length and width of John Blue. Ball Bearing specifications states to clean existing water diverters, place stabilization on the entire length and width of Ball Bearing hill, reshape, compact, and rolling. No grinding on Ball Bearing hill.

2. In the bid schedule all the items are 1 mile. Are we to bid for 1 mile of work, and then you will pay for whatever length we go? If bid this way it would seem to me that the dollar amount on 1442 will be considerably less than the money you will have to pay out for this contract.

The bid schedule should have had the number of miles we are grinding which is two for John Blue. Reshaping, stabilization, compacting, rolling should have the total of two and half miles. An updated bid schedule has been posted with this amendment.
